What is Florida Fun Bikes?
It is a giant party bike that is pedal-powered by you and your friends! We operate year round and take you on fun rides around town showcasing downtown and midtown Gainesville.
How much does it cost?
For a 2-hour private ride: Sunday-Thursday $300, Friday-Saturday $350. We also offer by the seat Mix N’ Mingle tours for $30 per person. Check out the Book Online tab for more info.
What does a tour consist of?
All tours are two hours long and we’ll stop at 2-3 places along pre-determined routes. You also get exclusive food & drink specials at most of our stops.
How many people does it hold?
You can have up to 16 people maximum in your group. We recommend having a minimum of eight people to rent the Fun Bike for pedaling purposes. If you don’t have 8-16 people in your group, please check out our Mix N’ Mingle Tours to reserve seats.
How many pedal?
The Fun Bike has 10 pedaling seats, plus two seats over the wheels that are non-pedaling. The bench seats three, plus one standing spot in the middle for someone to entertain the crew. In total, that’s 10 peddlers and 6 non-peddlers, making us the only 16-person bike in town.
We employ a sober, safe and fun driver to guide this pedal party for you.
Is alcohol allowed on the bike?
You cannot drink alcohol on the bike due to City of Gainesville open container laws, but you can bring your own snacks, drinks, props, costumes, party hats and anything else to add to your fun.
Do we get drink specials at the bars?
Absolutely! Before you ride, our driver will give your crew Florida Fun Bikes wristbands that give you access to specials at our partner bars. Check out the “Tours” tab for more details on stops.
Where does it launch?
All rides launch from 530 W. University Ave in downtown Gainesville (corner of 6th Street and University). You’ll see the Florida Fun Bikes building as you approach the back parking lot.
Where can I park?
Parking is right behind our office building. Look for the directional signs to guide you in. We have plenty of spots.
Is there any music?
Of course there is! The music is one of the best parts of the ride and we have a great sound system on board that can play the music of your choice.
What if the weather is bad?
Unless it’s storming something serious; we will ride. The ride is actually really fun when it’s raining and riders usually have a great time. Plus, there is a roof so you will stay pretty dry. We recommend purchasing a rain poncho, which we will have for sale. Due to the close proximity of riders & the logistics of keeping up with multiple small objects, umbrellas are NOT recommended. Florida Fun Bikes reserves the right to issue rain checks in case of severe or dangerous weather conditions.
What if I need to cancel my ride?
If you cancel more than 30 days prior, we will give you a full refund. If you cancel within 14 days, we will give you a rain check to use at a later date. Cancellations within 7 days of the tour will not receive any type of a refund.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards. You must pay in full at the time of reservation. We can split the payment on multiple cards if needed, just give us a call.
When can I rent it? How do I know if it’s available?
Check out the “Book Online” tab at the top of the page to view available times and dates. You can also call 352-462-2453 to check available dates and times. Or email us at FloridaFunBikes@gmail.com. First come, first serve!
Can I create my own route?
Absolutely! As long as advance notice is given and it makes sense traffic wise. Just let us know where you want to go and we will let you know if it’s achievable.
Is the fun bike dangerous?
As with any moving vehicle, there is risk involved. However, our drivers are trained to keep you safe and following their directions is advised. Very few injuries have occurred on Party Bikes.
Who should rent the Fun Bike?
Being a 16 person bike it is perfect for all social outings, including: birthdays, anniversaries, bachelor/bachelorette parties, Church outings, singles mixers, company parties, conventions, sports teams, pub crawls, picnics, family reunions, or just friends getting together. Florida Fun Bikes are also a great idea for corporations interested in unique team building, group rewards, and promotional opportunities.
Who should not rent the Fun Bike?
People opposed to having fun or anything that remotely resembles exercise.
Who can’t ride the Fun Bike?
The Bike has a minimum height requirement of 5’1″ and a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds for each person on the bike seats. The bench in the back is perfect for those who don’t exist within the height and weight limitations.
All riders must be at least 18 years of age (21 on tours doing pub crawls) and provide valid identification.
What’s the liability waiver all about?
Just like riding any bike, riding the Fun Bike can be a potentially dangerous activity. Your Captain will do everything he/she can to provide a safe and secure party environment.
We do offer stylish bike helmets for your safety but you don’t have to wear one; that’s totally up to you.
Should I tip my driver?
Tips are not expected but very much appreciated.
Who is in charge of the Fun Bike?
Your captain is responsible for the safe operation of the Fun Bike. Logistically, it is impossible for the captain to take direction from 16 people, so the renter will call the shots on group tours. If anyone is found to be a danger to themselves or others while riding the bike they could be removed.
